kind of a rant thing..

i realize that other people have it worse than i do, but my happiness doesn't make them feel any better.. i'm sick of bottling up my feelings, and it's kinda unhealthy.. this rant isn't targeted toward anyone on this forum. this isn't a cry for attention. some people just need to know that DEPRESSION ISNT CUTE. a lot of people dont understand how much those who actually suffer from them GET SO EFFING OFFENDED WHEN PEOPLE PRETEND THAT THEY HAVE THEM FOR ATTENTION.

Hi there. I'm Jessika. A while back I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder & anxiety. I also strongly suspect that I may have depression. It really offends me when people say that they have a type of psychological disorder because they think it's CUTE, or they just want attention. Well, lemme tell you something. It's not effing cute. One day I'll be walking on air, and the next day I'll be having suicidal thoughts. I have panic attacks more often than I would like to, and it's not fun. It sickens me when people say how depressed or how bad their anxiety is, and the next day, they'll be like "Oh, I'm finally over my depression!!." It doesn't work that way, AT ALL. Depression isn't something that you just diagnose yourself with, and then MAGICALLY GET OVEr IT. Recovering from ANY psychological disorder CAN TAKE YEARS OF EXTENSIVE THERAPY. I self harm, and I don't post it on social media saying "if this gets 100 likes i'll throw my knives in a river." I feel so offended when people post pictures of their "cuts," when it's OBVIOUSLY SOME CHEAP DRUGSTORE LIP STICK SLATHERED ALL OVER YOUR EFFING WRISTS. I'm bullied nearly every day, and I don't post rants on facebook complaining about how depressed I am. When people post things saying "my friend attempted killing herself, she's in the hospital" when you find the same effing picture on deviantArt, and they just do it for followers, I feel so offended. I've considered suicide, and I don't post on social media posing as a friend that is at the hospital just for followers. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY HAVE KILLED THEIR SELVES BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY'RE GOING THROUGH, AND SOME PEOPLE JUST TREAT IT AS A TREND? POsting pictures of your cut wrists on instagram ISNT AN EFFING TREND. I just wish that some people would understand that DEPRESSION ISN'T A FASHION STATEMENT, IT'S AN EFFING MENTAL DISORDER THAT CLAIMS LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.

this isnt a cry for help. I DONT want people to feel bad for me. like i said, I wish that everyone understood that PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERS ARENT TRENDS.

sorry for ranting, i just couldn't keep my feelings bottled up any more :(
